CLUB SOCIAL. St. Marys, Asdee Club Victory Social took place on Sunday December 28th at the Listowel Arms Hotel and certainly like so many other club events this was another occasion to cherish. The Chairman Padraig Vallelly welcomed all to the event stating it was a great year for the Clubs of the County and he went on to wish Austin Stacks, Ardfert and Brosna who are all only 60 minutes from an All Ireland Final in Croke Park. The great Timmy Moynihan of Radio Kerry Fame was our M C for the occasion and he went down a treat with the 200 guests on the night. Representing the County Board we had Timmy Murphy, Brosna, County Development Officer and our own recently elected as Central Council Delegate; John Joe O Carroll whom we are so proud of. From the North Kerry Football Board we had Secretary/P. R. O. Mairead O Sullivan. The Munster Junior “B” medals were presented to the victorious squad of 2013 amid great scenes of celebration by Tim Murphy while our North Kerry Division 2 League Champions in 1991 were not forgotton celebrating 23 years of that great win and they were also presented with a momento of the occasion. Yet another presentation to members of the Division 2 Asdee/Bally victorious minor players from the westeran side of the parish who won the Division 2 North Kerry Championship withMairead O Sullivan doing the presentation. As already stated Tim Moynihan was absolutely brilliant in his role and he brought the best out of all the speakers on the night especially the 3 wise men John Kennedy, Dan Dalton and Sean Doran and captain Eoin O Carroll.. There are so many people that made this night possible and are too numerous to mention. However to the Chairman, Padraig Vallelly, Secretary, Mark O Hanlon and Chairman of the Social Committee John Joe O Carroll you should take a bow. We cant forget our many sponsors who once again who rowed in big time behind the Club; to you the people of the locality, thank you and finally to everybody who helped in any way; St. Marys Asdee, G A A are grateful for your generousity.
