MUNSTER FINAL Due to the severe weather conditions it was decided by the hosting Knockaderry Club that in the interest of players safety that the Munster Junior “B” Final between Asdee v Charvleville, (Cork) due to be played on Sunday December 22nd would be posponed to a later date. The game will not go ahead in mid January.
CLUB DRAW The Clubs Christmas Fundraising Draw took place at the “Jessie James Tavern”on Monday night last December 23rd. On behalf of the Club we would once again thank everybody for contributing to the Fundraiser which was a huge success. SOCIAL The Clubs Victory Social held at the Listowel Arms Hotel on Sunday night last proved to be a wonderful occasion for the 200 plus that were in attendance. Pride of place of course was the presentation of the County Novice Shield medals to members of the victorious Asdee Senior Footballers by our special guest on the night Weeshie Fogarty who certainly need no introduction to North Kerry or any sporting occasion. As each player came forward to receive their medal they received a huge and well deserved reception. Christy Kileen representing the County Board and Billy Enright from the North Kerry Football Board were the clubs other invited guests. In the year that was in it the club were also celebrating our last County Title win which came 25 years ago in 1988 and members of that squad were also made a presentation. Overall a special night for the Club as “Heart and Soul” got the music started which was followed by a Disco by Fintan Henry.
SCOR Dates for the North Kerry Finals of Scor Sinsear will be confirmed shortly. The competition is once again sponsored by Tom O Sullivan of “Agricultural Services Ltd, Kilcolman. Club Scor Officer Kathleen Carmody is already prepairing for the event and any body out there that would like to represent the Club are requested to contact Kathleen as soon as possible. The various catagories are; Figure Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation, Ballad Group, Leiriu, (Novelty), Set Dancing. Question Time.
WREN. St. Marys Asdee G A A Club were out in force in the Wren and were delighted with the great welcome they received on their visit. Once again it was a very successful fundraiser for the Club and our thanks to everybody who made this happen.
NORTH KERRY AGM The A G M of the North Kerry Football Board will take place at the “Mermaids” Bar Listowel on Monday January 27th, 8pm. As there are 5 positions up for grabs due to the 5 year rule; Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer, Assistant Secretary, Development Officer and Cultural Officer. So if somebody in the Club would be interested in going forward to any of those position you are asked to contact Club Secretary Mark O Hanlon immediately as Nominations Forms should be with all Clubs by this weekend. Eddie Anthony Walsh will be remaining on as Vice Chairman of the Board.
