ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The A.G.M.of  St. Marys, Asdee G A A Club due
to take place at the Community Centre on Saturday night last was been
postponed due to a bereavement and has now be rescheduled for this
Saturday January 14th commencing at 8pm at the Community Centre.. All
positions in the Club are up for grabs so come along; attend the
meeting; air your views on the situation and keep the St. Marys flag
flying; all for the betterment of St. Marys starting its 31st year
since its formation in 1986. New members going forward for a position
in the Club would be very welcome but must be present at the meeting
on the night; otherwise it will be a wasted nomination. This is the
rule and will be strictly adhered to.

UNDER 21s.  Bally/Asdee/Beale  3-10   Knocknagoshel/Brosna  0-8.
Bally/Asdee/Beale qualified for the semi final of  the Under 21 North
Kerry Under 21 Football Championship sponsored by Dennehy Vetenary
Clinic,Duagh; played in perfect conditions at Duagh on Saturday last.
This was a game that the treble combination outfit dictated play for
the majority of the game and were rarely troubled by the Knock/Brosna
combination; however on saying all that Knock/Brosna did have their
moments but found Eoin “Bomber” Tydings in inspirational form bringing
off a series of top class saves in the winners goals. A well taken
goal midway through the opening half from Beales Shane Hanrahan saw
Bally/Asdee/Beale hit the front at the break by 1-5 to 0-3. On
resumption the eventual winners got completely on top and further
goals coming from Jack Mulvihill and Darragh Keane sealed the issue.
Overall this was a very impressive team performance with each member
playing their part and going on this form the team will fancy their
chances of going a step forward at least; especially as there are a
few others who were unable to attend for one reason or another but
hopefully will be fully fit and rairing to go for a semi final

GAA  NATIONAL CLUB DRAW

After it’s successful introduction last year, the GAA is continuing a
specific draw for all clubs who record, account for and sell a minimum
of 200 tickets will continue this year. The prizes will be provided by
the Central Council and will not impact on the value of the main Draw
prizes which is limited by legislation.

The GAA National Club Draw has raised over €6 million for clubs over
the past three years with the sole purpose of the Draw is to assist
clubs in their drive to raise much needed funds to aid in the further
development and the promotion of our games. After a very successful
venture last year by the local St. Marys, Asdee Club the they will
once again be all out to repeat the success of last years Fundraiser.
The Club Specific Draw is confirmed for the 2017 Club Draw with the
details of the Draw as follows; A Draw will be done for all Counties
whereby 3 Clubs will receive a prize of E5000. The Draw will be done
per County whereby 3 Clubs will receive a prize of E1000 and the Club
with the highest ticket sales in each Province will receive a prize of
E1000. To qualify the Club must sell a minimum of 200 tickets which
will certainly be possible and again with the generous support that
target can be achieved once again. Without doubt this is a great
opportunity to raise badly needed cash for the day to day running of
the Club and further Development of Jack Walsh Memorial Park. The Club
will retain all the proceeds raised through the sale of tickets with
this years prizes provided by Ard Chomhairle and will be confirmed at
a later date which will include many Holiday Vouchers and All Ireland
Football and Hurling tickets which are just a few of the fabulous
prizes on offer.. We had some outstanding ticket sellers last year and
none more so than Ivan Tydings who deserves special mention for his
outstanding work; so hopefully everybody will once again come on board
and make it another successful venture. Further details later in this
column.
