COISTE NA NOG.  The Annual General Meeting of St. Marys, Asdee Coiste
Na nOg due to go ahead at the Community Centre on Wednesday night last
January 25th was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and will
now be reconvened at a later date.

CONGRATS. Congratulations to Eddie Anthony Walsh from the local club
who was returned unopposed as Vice Chairman of the North Kerry
Football Board at the A.G.M. on Wednesday night last. Eddie who is in
his 4th term of office will continue his role as the Chairman of the
Referees Committee.

G A A NATIONAL CLUB DRAW 2017.

Asdee has been involved in this Fundraiser over the past few years
with huge success.The sole purpose of the Draw is to assist Clubs in
their drive to raise much needed funds in aid of the development and
the promotion of our games.

There are some fantastic prizes which consists of, first prize New
Opel Corsa Car , 2nd prize Trip with the All Stars 2017, for 2 people,
All Star banquet tickets, tour and Airline tickets and accommodation,
followed by Tickets for 2 people, for Premium and Corporate for both
All Ireland Football and Hurling Finals plus overnight accommodation
which is on offer on 9 different occasions.Travel Voucher valued at
E1,500; Shopping Vouchers to the value of E1000 and plus plenty more
magnificent prizes which includes 14 prizes in all. Draw will take
place on Wednesday March 8th,.

So by supporting your local club you can be in for an opportunity to
win some of these fantastic prizes by joining the National Club Draw
which is ongoing at the minute and for those of you who may wish to
join you are asked to contact any Club Officer by purchasing a €10.00
ticket.

RETIRING. Long serving Officer Billy Enright, Ballylongford stepped
down from the position of Chairman of the Board at this years North
Kerry Football Boards Annual General Meeting which took place at
“Christys the Well, Bar” Listowel on Thursday last January 26th due to
the 5 year rule that saw his term of office completed after a long and
distinguished career representing the Board  and the Clubs of North
Kerry over a 28 year period serving as; Chairman from 2012 to 2016; P.
R O, ( on 2 seperate occasions) 1991 to 1995 and 2011, Secretary, 1995
to 2005 and Vice Chairman, from 2007 to 2010 and this is outside of
representing his own Club, Ballylongford and Shannon Rangers in the
position of Secretary prior to his involvement with the District
Board. On behalf of the St. Marys, Asdee G A A Club we would all like
to wish Billy all the best for the future and who deserves to take a
well earned break. No doubt the Ballylongford man will never be too
far away from the football scene but for now its the recharging  of
the batteries.

COUNTY LEAGUE. Due to Kilgarvans re-entry to Division 5 of the Credit
Union County Football League there will be an extra round for all
teams in this Division; so Division 5 will commence on Sunday March
12th , 2pm at Walsh Park and for Asdee it will be a home game against
Cromane. In Round 2 on Sunday March 19th which will see all the 5
Divisions getting their County League underway Asdee will be away to
Ballylongford.

GOLDEN GOAL. The Club are once again going ahead with the very popular
“Golden Goal” Club Fundraiser which will be getting underway on this
weekend Sunday February 5th and to continue until the conclusion of
the Championship. The opening game in our “Golden Goal” will be a
deferred showing of the Donegal v Kerry National League game. The
Fundraiser will be in conjunction with all upcoming Fixtures in both
National League and Championship Football and Hurling. (Televised
Games). Tickets are now available and will be on sale from Club
members and at the usual outlets; “Jack Jays” Bar, Post Office and
John Pius at E2 each with E40 to be given out each week to the winning
number which corresponds with the first goal scored. It is possible
that for some of Kerrys games there will be a double round of tickets
for sale to make sure everybody is catered for such is always the
demand for tickets for the Kerry games. Game two will take for Kerry
who are at home to Mayo at Austin Stack, Park, Tralee on Saturday
February 11th

NORTH  KERRY A G M.  The Annual General Meeting of the North Kerry
Football Board took place at Christys “The Well Bar”, Listowel on
Thursday January 26th last.  Just one contest and that was for the
position of Chairman to take over from the outgoing Billy Enright,
Ballylongford whose term of office was completed. When all the votes
were counted it was Johnny Stack of Moyvane who was elected as the new
Chairman of the North Kerry Football Board defeating Maurice Mannix of
Beale. The positions of P. R. O. , Cultural Officer and Youth Officer
are still vacant from the previous year with nominations to be sent
out once again to the Clubs in an effort to fill those positions. Club
Delegates Mark O Hanlon and Patsy Coughlan were representing the Club
on the night.

FIXTURE. Asdee will be competing in the McCarthys Insurance Brokers
North Kerry League Division 2 which will be commencing in early
February. Fixture and date to be confirmed by the C C of the North
Kerry Board.The Credit Union County League Division 5 is getting
underway on Sunday March 12th with a home game against Cromane. Round
2 will go ahead on Sunday March 19th away to Ballyduff. Both games
will go ahead at 2pm.
