Asdee 3-10   Moyvane  4-8

Up 5pts at the interval and a whopping 10 pts and in complete control  with just under 7mts remaining Moyvane staged a major recovery to snatch a 1pt victory thanks to a well taken goal by without doubt Man of the Match, full forward, Martin Stack who accounted for no less than 3-7 of his sides tally in a very competitive game played at Con Brosnan Park, Moyvane on Sunday last.

Yes it looked that the visitors would be celebrating at the last whistle but credit Moyvane who showed their true fighting and never say die spirit. Certainly the visitors will rue this result as they were in control for the bigger part of the game and but for a variety of ball handling errors and indiscpline which eventually led to their downfall  probably cost them at the end.

Moyvane playing into the Village goal and into a slight breeze were first off the mark with Martin Stack splitting the posts after 2mts. Two minutes later Darragh Keane levelled up for Asdee. With plenty possession Asdee went 0-5 to 0-1 ahead by the 20th minute, with, Cyril Dineen, (2), Darragh Keane and Paul O Carroll on target.

Coasting at this stage and indiscpline set in which led to the home side going ahead by 2-2 to 0-5 by the 26th minute. Martin Stack with a goal and Gavin Kennelly sending over.

However Asdee got their act together and for the remaining minutes were firing on all cylinders with some dazzling football; full forward Cyril Dineen struck for 2 goals with Eoin Kennedy popping over points and at the break it was Asdee; 2-7 Moyvane 2-2.

Conor Keane and Martin Stack exchanged points on resumption; Darragh Keane found the net in the 11th minute adding a point along with Paul O Carroll. Martin Stack was Moyvanes only reply.

Game over 3-10 to 2-4 for Asdee or so we thought; Moyvane may not be setting the football scene aloud in recent times but on this occasion together with some terrible defending by Asdee they hit the front and in a 4 minute burst plus a 5 minute period of injury time they secured an unlikely win 30 minutes earlier.

Substitute Kieran Aherne hit 1-1, further points from Martin Stac k with the killer blow coming in the 4th minute of injury from the Man of the Match. Injury time was justified as there were a few stoppages.
