NORTH KERRY LEAGUE. Having fared ok in the McCarthys Insurance Brokers Senior League Division 22017 our senior footballers who have unsuccessfully faired in both 2014 and 2015 finals and 2016 semi final are still in contention to grab a semi final place. Moyvane, Duagh, Ballyduff, Knocknagoshel and Asdee made up the group. The format being top team on the highest number of points go through to the final followed by the second and third placed teams to make up one semi final. Moyvane having won all their games go straight through to the final followed by Duagh after their victory over Asdee recently leaves just one spot to fill. Duagh having one backlog game to play against Knocknagoshel at home this weekend, will be fancied to continue their winning streak. A Duagh victory would mean that there would be a three way play-off between Asdee, Ballyduff and Knocknagoshel. If Knocknagoshel get over Duagh then it would mean that Knock would play Duagh in the semi final.

The local St. Marys, Asdee G A A in Association with Kerry Respite Care held their fourth Annual Fundraising Half Marathon and 10km road race and which incorporated a 5km fun run/walk in excellent weather conditions on Saturday last at the Jack Walsh, Memorial Park. Once again it was a very successful day for the Club with some of Kerrys top athletes which included Riocht and Kerry Crusaders who have taken part each year along with a number of other well known Kerry clubs together with many local runners which made it another successful venture. UNDER 14s. Finuge 5-14 Asdee/Bally 1-4. County U14 League Semi Final Asdee/ Bally u14 County League campaign came to a close on Wednesday evening with a heavy defeat away to a very strong Finuge team. Finuge had the game truly wrapped up at half time holding a commanding lead. However, our boys didn’t fold in the second half, kept their heads held high and matched Finuge score for score in this period. Although, there were heavy defeats to Finuge and Anascual/Lispole (both of whom were clearly good enough for higher divisions), Asdee/ Bally enjoyed three other very close competitive games winning against Ballydonoghue and Tarbert, whilst losing to Beale.
The North Kerry League will resume after the county championships involving regional district teams. With three games to play, we will be renewing rivalries against the aforementioned Beale, Tarbert and Ballydonoghue, hopefully leading to more successful competitive games.
