County League Asdee 0-10 Finuge 4-17
Finuge produced probably one of their best performances of the County League so far in Phase 2 of the cup competition making it two from two as they comfortably outplayed Asdee on Friday evening last and are piling on the pressure on their nearest rivals for promotion.
As in their previous encounter Asdee playing at home on this occasion enjoyed plenty possession but hitting the target was a problem. Eoin Tydings and Kelytn Molloy exchanging scores and after 14 minutes the sides couldn’t be separated at 2pts each. However not scoring at one end and allowing their opponents in for a goal of soft variety at the other proved a decisive from here on.
A harmless looking ball delivered in defenders not alert to the situation and Neilus Mackessey had little bother finding the net in the 17th minute and at the break it was the visitors who led Finuge 1-5 Asdee 0-2.
The second half was all one way traffic as Finuge steamrolled their way the victory; Three further goals, Kelytn Molloy,10th minute, (1-5) Liam O Brien,13th minute, (1-3) and Cathal McCarthy 17th minute put paid to any aspirations that a home win could be on the cards as Finuge emptied their bench.
Asdee did put on a bit of a spurt towards the end with Eoin Tydings, Patrick Mulvihill and Paul O Carroll putting a slightly better reflection on the scoreboard.
