It’s that time of the year once again when Scor is almost upon us as we prepare for Coiste Scor Sinsear Ciarrai Finals. First up though will be the North Kerry Scor Sinsear Finals which will be coming up in a few weeks and no doubt the local club will once again be competing. V

John Paul Galvin became the clubs first Scor Officer in the mid 80s and he was later instrumental when the Club donated a beautiful Cup to the County Scor Committee for the Recitation section in honour of the late Mick Hennessy who represented the club at Munster Finals at Recitation during the 90s.
First winner of the Cup was Frances Kennedy, Listowel with many Asdee connections and was presented by Enda son of the late Mick.
Well done to the Northern Gaels Under 15 footballers who had a splendid victory over Listowel “B” in the North Kerry Shield Division 2 final played at Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel last weekend. Northern Gaels 2-15 Listowel Emmets “B” 2-13. The Byrne brothers Fionn, as captain and Cathal from the Asdee/Bally combination were prominent members of the club.
Shannon Rangers put up a superb performance in the Garvey’s Supervalue County Senior Football Championship before going down to Kerins O Rahilly’s on Saturday evening last at Austin Stack Park. Martin Collins from the local St. Marys, Asdee club was a playing member of the team.
Kerry Petroleum Novice Championship, the winners of Clounmacon or Ballylongford who will be playing a preliminary round, will play Asdee in a quarter final. Games finish on the day. Date and time to be confirmed.
