County League
The Credit Union County Football League Division 5 came to a conclusion recently and in fairness it was really a great achievement to fulfil all fixtures; due to injuries, retirements and immigration and other commitments so it was not easy with our players drawn from a radius of only 3 miles approximately; so, you can imagine how difficult this was.
We certainly struggled throughout the McCarthys Insurance Brokers North Kerry League Division 2 but eventually got through finishing at the wrong end of the table. Great credit is due to our Management team of John Kennedy, Brian Coughlan and Sean Doran along with our dedicated players who made sure that all games were played.
Well, the County League we set out to do as good as possible and a mid-table finishing place was very satisfying to all due to the circumstances. Still a few competitions yet to play, Kerry Petroleum Junior Club Championship with at least three games to play and then its knockout for the Bernard 0 Callaghan Memorial Senior Championship.
Golden Goal
The clubs Golden Goal fundraising competition continues each week until the All-Ireland football final on Sunday July 30th. Weekly entry €2, with prizemoney €40 each week to the winning numbers. Purchase from John Pius Walsh, Shop, Kevin Mulvihill. Patsy Coughlan or John Joe O Carroll.
This week’s winners were; Thomas Doherty, Ballylongford, Jack Scanlon, Larha, Donal O Carroll, Kilcolman.
All Ireland Junior Final
Congratulations to Shay McElligott who played a starring role in New York’s victory over Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Junior Final at Croke Park on Sunday last on a 0-13 to 1-9 contributing 7pts and atoning for last year’s defeat against the same opposition.
Shay has plenty Asdee connections with his Mom; Collette O Sullivan/McElligott; herself a fine footballer with the local Ladies team and Shays grandad Tom O Sullivan, Kilcolman who won many football titles with New York back in the 60s.

2023 Keane’s SuperValu County Minor Football Championship,2022 County Minor Football Champions North Kerry first game takes place on Monday, July 24th, at 7:30pm against South Kerry at a home venue yet to be confirmed.
