WALSH PARK
The further Developement of Jack Walsh Park has been a major topic within the club for some time as the surface of the pitch has been a source of worry with games only been played there maybe from early May to September and this would be down to weather conditions we have been experiencing.
So earlier this year a committee under the stewardship of Club Chairman, Sean Doran it was decided that a major job would have to be done with the playing surface of the pitch which in fact was a source of embarrassment with our footballers having to forfeit home advantage on numerous occasions in different competitions.
However it must be said that the local North Kerry Clubs always came to our rescue when the need arose of which we are very grateful. We must also thank the local Soccer Club who gave their facilities to our footballers for training purposes. So after many discussions and meetings and what have you work got underway a few months ago being overseen by agronomist James Healy, who has previously worked with his chosen contractors to create top class playing surfaces and now the good news is that the drainage, sanding and seeding of the Jack Walsh Park is now complete for some time. So at this stage of the development we saw the Jack Walsh Park looking very well after its first grass cut on Friday last. So the countdown begins to get playing in Jack Walsh Park once again.. It is great to see all our fundraising efforts along with sponsorship coming to fruition and this is mainly due to all once again our neighbouring clubs but especially to you our generous Parishioners who have never left the club down when it came to fundraising. Roll on the re-opening of Jack Walsh Park.

SAM MAGUIRE
On behalf of St. Marys, Asdee G A A we would like. to send a massive congratulations to Asdees N.S. student Roisin Fogarty, who had the honour of been chosen to walk out on to the pitch with the Sam Maguire Cup in Croke Park on Saturday evening last prior to the All Ireland Senior Football Final Replay between Kerry and Dublin.
An excellent young footballer in her own right, it’ was a huge honour for herself, her family and the club. Unfortunately despite a massive effort from our gallant footballers they failed to stop the Dubs on this occasion but there is no doubt this young team will deliver sooner rather than later..
CONGRATULATIONS
Massive congrats to Jackie Horgan and the Kerry Camogie team on being crowned All Ireland Premier Junior champions when they defeated Limerick in the final at Croke Park.
Jackie has plenty Asdee connections as her mother Ann Collins, formarly of Craughdarrig, Asdee is married to well known St. Senans and Kerry footballer Johnny Horgan was also part of the backroom team; also well done to Olivia Dineen who is a sister of Cyril Dineen goal poacher supreme with our senior footballers.
