Last weeks Kerry Petroleum Junior Club Championship Rd 2: game away to Sneem/Derrynane due to be played on Saturday evening last was not played. With just one game remaining in this group against Duagh down for decision on this weekend with the result irrelevant; we have failed to qualify for the next stage of the County Junior competition and will now be dropping down to the Novice Championship which will be played at a later date.
Certainly playing in the Novice championship brings back great memories; Five games in all were played; Round 1,Clounmacon after extra time, 2-21 to 2-15, County semi final, Reenard; 1-8 to 0-9 a County final victory over our fellow parishioners, Ballylongford; 1-12 to 1-8, Munster semi final, Feenagh/Kilmeedy, Limerick. winning by 1-14 to 1-8 followed by the historic day in Knockaderry in County Limerick when the club won a Munster Junior “B” 2013 title against Charleville of Cork by a single point margin, 0-9 to 1-5. Eoin O Carroll, captain accepted the Munster Junior “B” Cup from the Chairman of the Knockaderry club Tom Sheehy Noel Long got Man of the Match; with John Kennedy, Dan Dalton and John Doran Team Mentors
