COUNTY LEAGUE.  Certainly the Club priority for 2017 will have to be
to get out of the Credit Union County Football League Division 5;
having laboured for too long now in this Division finishing mid table
and just missing out on promotion on a few occasions. Without doubt
players numbers wise didn’t help the situation especially during the
previous year with players having to opt out through injury and other
commitments. The team have been putting in a hugh effort in training
under the watchful eye of former All Ireland Senior Medal holder, John
Kennedy and Selectors, Dan Dalton and Sean Doran along with a few
games played in the McCarthys Insurance Brokers North Kerry League
Division 2 so hopefully this will come to fruition for the year ahead.
This year the County League will have 13 teams in the Division with
Kilgarvan who were concentrating on hurling the past few years are
back again. Asdee will have six home games; Cromane which is the
opening game in the League on Sunday March 12th, Ballylongford,
Rathmore “B”, Kilgarvan, Churchill and Cordal while Ballyduff, Austin
Stacks,”B”, Moyvane, Knocknagoshel, Tuosist and Valentia will provide
the opposition away. So its the start of a new football season and
hopefully results and a full turnout of players will be kind to us for
the year ahead.
