Kilgarvan 3-15 Asdee 1-10

A youthful Kilgarvan side lined out in Strand road on Sunday last against Asdee in the Novice Shield Final.  Kilgarvan opened the scoring with a point from Kerry U20 captain Donal O’Sullivan.  He quickly followed this with another point before Paul O Carroll for Asdee pointed a free.  Donal O Sullivan was on flying form and scored another 4  points before Patrick O’Shea found the back of the net.  Kilgarvan went in at half time 1-8 to 0-04 ahead .

Substitute Flor O’Sullivan for Kilgarvan opened the scoring in the second half with a well taken point from play, Patrick O’Shea followed with a lovely point.   Asdee Paul O Carroll scored a point from a free followed by a point from Cyril Dineen before Donal O’Sullivan found the back of the net for Kilgarvan’s second goal.  Kilgarvan pushed on and scored the next 4 points from Patrick O’Shea, John Mark Foley and Daniel Casey before Donal O’Sullivan found the back of the net for the second time.  Kilgarvan’s youth and class proved too much for Asdee and they came out the deserviing winners on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-10. A late goal from full forward Cyril Dineen proved to be just a consolation score for the North Kerry side.  Treasurer of the County Board, Weeshie Lynch presented the Cup to the winning Kilgarvan Captain Patrick O Shea.
