County League Asdee 1-7 Moyvane 3-16
Prior to the game getting underway there was a minute’s silence observed for former club player Joe Edgerworth who sadly passed away over the weekend. On the playing front Moyvane continued their dominance over Asdee with a highly accomplished display of fast open football that had Asdee chasing for the bigger part the game in the Division 5, Phase 2 Cup encounter.
Certainly, Asdee received a huge blow just before the break when one of the key players, Kieran Kelly had to be replaced due to injury. Played at Con Brosnan Park on Saturday evening last that opening quarter saw the visitors go toe to toe with their opponents and led 3pts to 2pts by the 9th minute; through Darragh Keane;(2) and Paul O Carroll.
However, some sloppy defending saw Michael Fogarty cut in for a goal in the 15th minute and 11mts later Eoin Flaherty billowed the net and from here on the Newtownsandes men were in control leaving the half time score; Moyvane 2-7 Asdee 0-3. On resumption and only 2mts had elapsed when the impressive Martin Stack struck for their 3rd goal.
Darragh Keane added a goal (16th, mt) with Eoin Tydings and Paul O Carroll kicking over points but it was too little too late as Moyvane finished convincing winners.

Congratulations
Congrats to Darragh Keane who had a fine game at wing back for Tralee Parnell’s in their historic County league Division 2 Intermediate Hurling Final victory recently when they defeated Causeway. In fact, another Club stalwart Cyril Dineen was on the opposing side. Both are important members of our senior footballers.
