With the County League Division 5 just gone past the halfway stage the local senior football team even though they have only 2 league points to show for have shown great improvement as the games go by and only for having to field understrength teams on a few occasions the team would most certainly be further up the league table. However theres a nice blend of youth and experience in the team at the moment and if they can stick with it and stay together success may not be too far down the road.
Without doubt the displays to date given by the younger brigade; Kieran Kelly, Sean Keane, Martin Collins, Michael Tydings, Con Carmody, Mike Breen, Padraig Buckley, Eoin Tydings; add in another young and upcoming star in Darragh Keane and the future of St. Marys is very bright. It is worth noting that Under 18 Eoin “Bomber” Tydings is proving a profilic scorer for the club and to date has accounted for 2-32 of his sides total from County and North Kerry Leagues games at senior level to date. Eoin has also been top scorer for the Asdee/Bally Minor combination in their CountyLeague games.
