SENIORS. Our senior footballers have hit 2014 by storm going strong in all competitions to date. I suppose the winning of the Junior “B” Munster Championship recently really set the scene for driving forward which they have done so far; joining Desmonds, (Senior), Duagh, (Junior), Finuge . (Junior), and Brosna, (Novice) as Munster Champions from the North Kerry District Board.  Knocknagoshel will provide the opposition in both Novice County Championship and North Kerry League Division 2 semi final. County League is going well at the minute with 3 points of of 3; Defeating Moyvane, drawing with Ballydonoghue and just been edged out by promotion favourites St. Senans. So its all systems go at the moment and with a very dedicated and young panel of players at the disposal of team trainer,John Kennedy and selectors, Dan Dalton and Sean Doran there could be a few eyebrows raised before the end of the season. Not forgetting our under age structure together with our fellow parishioners Ballylongford who have also been playing their part in all age groups..

UNDER 14 COUNTY. LEAGUE. Asdee/Bally  3-9  Currow 6-10. The combination side made the trek to East Kerry on Wednesday evening last to take on table-toppers Currow  in the Lee Strand Division 7 County football League and despite the final scoreline reading a comfortable 10 point victory for the home side this was not a true reflection on the tremendous performance given by the visitors and only for Currows ability to score goals the result could have very well gone in the way of the North Kerry side. At the break it was the pre-match favourites who led the way by 4-4 to 1-7. On the changeover even though the home side were still keeping their noses in front Asdee/Bally were giving as good as they got. However the stronger and more physical Currow side were to win out in the end. Fair enough Asdee/Bally may remain pointless they can still hold their heads up high. Certainly Conor Carmody was in great scoring form with 7pts; (6f), as was Liam Mulvihill with 2-1. Brendan Keane got the remaining goal with Shay Doran splitting the posts for their remaining point. Paddy O Neill, Denis Heaphy, Stephen Lynch were also in great form.
