Did you know (A bit of news from Ballydonoghue) that Gus Cremins Refereed the All Ireland Minor Final in 1956, That the late Danny Curtin was P R O of Coiste Scor Chiarrai during the late 80s, That Jack Kissane who played for Ballydonoghue, won an All Ireland Senior Football medal with Galway in 1956. That John Dowling, (present Shannon Rangers Club Secretary) won the first ever “Young Clubman of the Year Award” in Kerry in 1985.

That Ned Purtill was one of the youngest Referees to officiate at a County Championship Final. That Fr. James Linnane trained St. Brendans College, Killarney to win the All Ireland Colleges Final in 1969 and Denis Kissane, Lacca was on the starting 15. That Mick Finucane, Eddie Dowling and Gus Cremins and Frank O Keeffe, Austin Stacks are the sole survivers from the famous Polo Grounds All Ireland Final of 1947.

That John and Robert Bunyan won All Ireland senior and minor medals on the same day in 1975. Robert was captain of the Kerry minors. That Mr. William (Bill) Fitzgerald, Glouria, long serving Secretary of Coiste Na Nog Chiarrai Thuaidh played Junior Football for Limerick. That Gus Cremins and Jer D O Connor captained Kerry in Senior All Ireland Finals of 1946 and 1965 respectively. That All Ireland Senior Football medals holders Bobby Buckley, Clounmacon and Niall Sheehy, John Mitchels played for Ballydonoghue.
