MINOR COUNTY LEAGUE  Asdee/Bally and Keel/Listry were due to play their final round game in Keel on Friday evening last but due to the difficult weather conditions the game was called off at short notice. Another victory would guarantee to be involved in the knockout stages. The top team in the group will go directly to the final while second and third placed will play a semi final with the second placed team enjoying home advantage in that semi final.

UNDER 14 COUNTY LEAGUE.  Asdee / Ballylongford 5-5  Tarbert 4-14

Played in good conditions at O’Rahilly Park Ballylongford on Wednesday last in Division 7 “B”, the combined parish team put in a good performance but came up short against a strong Tarbert team.

The home team got off to a flying start with a cracking goal by Liam Mulvihill following good work by Josh Prendergast. The teams were evenly matched for the first quarter with the home defence putting in some good solid work keeping out an attacking Tarbert team. However, Tarbert won a penalty and kicked on from here to the end of the half. This left the half time score at 2-8 to 2-2 to Tarbert with Paddy O’Neil adding the second goal while Josh Prendergast and Liam Mulvihill added the points.

Asdee / Bally emptied their bench during the second half fighting all the way to the final whistle keeping the margin at 6 points. Further goals were added by Liam Mulvihill, Pauric Fogarty and Bobby McCarron. The points came from Liam Mulvihill, Bobby McCarron and Byran Murphy. The team can be proud of their performance and hopefully kick on from here for the remainder of the season and welcome back a couple of players who were absent. They showed great battling spirit to play all the way to the final whistle never giving up.

FUNDRAISER  This promises to be a night of entertainment and craic and something never seen before when all roads will lead to the Village where Asdee GAA will be hosting a ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ fundraiser on this Saturday, April 9th, in the  Community Centre at 8pm. The event is in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the club and will provide the foundation for the upgrade of facilities at Jack Walsh Park.

Fifteen acts from around North Kerry will go head to head for the popular and judges’ votes on the night. Each act will perform their version of a well-known song in an attempt to capture the audiences’ heart.

A glitzy red-carpeted entrance, a heated marquee complete with a bar, food and big screen, and our special guests are just some of the treats in store.

Following the night’s entertainment and the crowning of our winners, the music and craic will continue to flow. Please visit the Asdee GAA Facebook page to see each act’s promo video and show your support.

Tickets will cost €15, with these also doubling as a raffle ticket on the night, giving you the chance to win one of our attractive spot prizes, generously donated by various businesses and restaurants.

Please contact one of the Asdee GAA officers, or Asdee Post Office to book your ticket. The response has been tremendous to date, so tickets will be limited.

The night promises to be one to remember and we hope you can join us to celebrate our 30th anniversary in style.
