Week 44 winner in our weekly Club Fundraisers”Golden Goal” over the past week was; Thomas “Junior” Tydings, Gullane, Asdee who will receive E80 and who had the winning number that corresponded with the first goal scored in last weekends televised All Ireland club championship game.  

This was the final “Golden Goal” draw for this year; so on behalf of the cl;ub we would like to thank everybody who supported the fundraiser throughout the year which was a huge success; not forgetting our many ticket sellers and especially to Kevin Mulvihill and Patsy Coughlan along with our ticket outlets “Jack Jas” Bar and John Pius; “Homestead”. The “Golden Goal” will resume once again for the first game in the Allianz National Football League Televised game; Kerry v Dublin on Saturday January 24th in Croke Park at 7 15pm and will continue in 2020 with both Football and Hurling games, League and Championship shown on Television.


Former Munster Junior “B” Football champions back in 2013 Asdee and in fact one of the few football clubs in North Kerry to have the honour of winning Provential honours will once again be celebrating another notable victory; this time in the McCarthys Insurance Brokers North Kerry Senior Football League Division 2 when they accounted for pre match favourites Knocknagoshel in the decider earlier in the year. So on Friday January 3rd all roads will lead to the Arms Hotel, Listowel for our many supporters to join in on the festivities in honouring our senior footballers on their special night, and who will be presented with their medals at this function. 

Music will be provided once again by Heart and Soul. Officers of both County and North Kerry will be in  attendance. Tickets will be on sale this weekend from Club Officers with further Information to follow and will be announced in the coming weeks


Having been unsuccessful at District Board level Asdee G A A Club were not involved at the County Finals of Coiste Scor Na nOg Chiarrai held in the Glenbeigh/Glencar, Sports Hall on Sunday last December 15th; however our neighbouring club Finuge represented our District Board having qualified from the recent North Kerry Football Finals held at the Community Centre  Asdee  and their wonderful  Music Group of Kieran Mackessy, Mikey Fealey, Caoimhe Laide, Adeen Cronin and Kyra O Sullivan( Instrumental Music) will now go through the Munster Finals   which will take place be in the Eire Og G A A Pavilion, Ovens  County Cork on Sunday January 5th, 1-30pm.  Both All Ireland Finals of Scor Na nOg , (Saturday February,1st, 2020) and Scor Sinsear , (Saturday April 25th, 2020)will this year be taking place in the I. N. E. C. Killarney


The ledgendary man from Kilcolman, Asdee whose successful career on the playing pitch from his home club O Rahilly Park, Ballylongford to Croke Park and further afield  has been well documented and whose memory lives on because within a short
time after his death in 1983 the Ballylongford and Castleisland Desmonds clubs came together and presented a Cup to the North Kerry Football Board to
be known as the Eamon O Donoghue Memorial Cup and each year this cup
is presented to the captain of the club which wins the Bernard O Callaghan Memorial North.Kerry Senior Football Championship. So on Sunday last the famous Cup was presented to the winning St. Senans, captain, Jason Brown by the Chairman of the North Kerry Football Board, Johnny Stack. Man of the Match sponsored by Estuary Print and Trophies, Ballylongford went to St. Senans Barry O Mahony. Well done to O Rahillys Club, Ballylongford for their wonderful facilities.  


The 96th A.G.M of the North Kerry Football Board will take place on Monday 13th January @ 8pm in Chirstys,“The Well” Listowel.  Local club man Eddie Anthony Walsh; already an Officer of the North Kerry Football Board will once again be putting his name forward for the position of Board Developement Officer. Local club delegates, Mark O Hanlon and Patsy Coughlan will be in attendance.
