ROUNDUP.   Looking ahead  to the remainder of the games that the club are still involved in it will be all systems go for our senior footballers. Certainly in the recent McCarthys Insurance Brokers Division 2 Senior League Final there were great expectations but the team never performed; just a bad day at the office and Moyvane strolled to a handy victory. However in fairness the team as a whole have been making a huge effort in training with some fantastic results recorded, especially in theCounty League so the team will now have to move on from the disappointment of the Division 2 final defeat and concentrate ahead. Just two games remain in the County league and it’s a must win situation in both; victory in those would gain us at least a play-off for promotion. This weekend barring a draw in the All Ireland Senior Football final; Knocknagoshel who are at home will prove a tough obstacle to crack while the final round of the Credit Union County Football League is down for mid October with promotion candidates Renard travelling to Walsh Park. Then again Renard at home to Valentia this weekend could decide our promotion chances but a win for the Islanders would really set us up for the last round of the league; but Asdee must defeat Knock also. In the Novice County Championship semi final there is another difficult game ahead on Sat/Sun, October 25/26th in Sheehy Park Listowel against St. Senans. Ballydonoghue or Lispole will provide the opposition for who ever will go through. I suppose each game is most important than the next but certainly the game that has caught the imagination of everybody since the draw for the Bernard O Callaghan Memorial Senior Football Championship was made and the meeting of fellow parishioners Asdee v Bally is sure to attract plenty attention . The venue will be Walsh Park, Asdee with date to be confirmed. So exciting days ahead for the footballers and supporters of St. Marys, Asdee for the remainder of the season ahead with each of those games mentioned a must win situation.
