Listowel Emmets 4-11 Ballylongford Asdee 2-6
Our Under 21 footballers after a convincing victory over Moyvane/Tarbert in a preliminary round of the North Kerry Under 21 championship were expected to go further in the competition but a fired up Listowel Emmets side proved a much tougher assignment to the combination side at the quarter final stage played at the Denis Dowling Memorial Park, Coolard. Ballylongford/Asdee will rue two missed goal opportunities in the opening half one from the penalty spot, while also conceding two early goals of a rather soft variety to their opponents leaving them trailing by eleven points at half time and an uphill battle on resumption. Emmets 2-8 Bally/Asdee 0-3
However with nothing to loose the combination side dug deep took the game to their opponents and a much improved second half performance saw them adding on two goals coming from Stephen Lynch and Conor Keane along with three points to cut the deficit to a three point game; Bally/Asdee were at this stage looked to be in the driving seat but Listowel were always able to keep distance between them; weathering that storm and adding on a further 2-3 to a deserved victory at the final whistle.

ALL IRELAND SEMI FINAL.
Not for the first time the name Mike “Tricky” Enright has hit the headlines; having given a lifetime of service to coaching/Training both at under age and adult in both football and hurling and having success as a player and mentor with his native Ballyduff, Beale and now as Trainer/Coach to the St. Marys, Asdee Senior Footballers to mention a few.
“Tricky” as he is affectionally known masterminded a magnificent McCarthys Insurance Brokers Senior League, Division 2 North Kerry League title to the club recently; but on Sunday last as Trainer/Manager of the Clanmaurice Ladies Camogie team he waived his magic wand once again in continuing his success story in helping to deliver their fourth Munster Junior Club Championship final on the trot and fifth in six years when they defeated a fancied Armagh champions; Ballymacnab in the All Ireland semi final.
So its a dream season for Kerry and Clanmaurice Camogie and hopefully is set to continue after the club side qualified for the AIB All Ireland Junior Championship final when they will take on Raharney of Westmeath on this Sunday November 24th at Mc Donagh, Park, Nenagh, with a 2pm throw-in time.
So on behalf of St. Marys Asdee G A A Club we would like to take this opportunity to wish Mike and his Ladies the very best of luck in the decider. Maybe if all goes well that Cup will be paraded around the Village of Asdee with “Tricky” at the helm.
Congratulations to Brendan Griffin. Clounmacon who officiated for the third time in the Garveys Supervalue County Senior Football Championship final when East Kerry defeated Dr. Crokes in an all East Kerry Board Final at the Austin Stack Park, Tralee. Brendan is a top class official and who received very favourable comments from both media and followers of the game afterwards.
His record to date at County and Munster Level is very impressive to say the least that has seen him Referee, Munster Minor Championship games, Munster Junior Club Championship Semi Final, County Senior Club Final, Senior County League Final along with Intermediate, Novice and Minor County Championship Finals. He has also refereed District Championship finals at North, South and West Kerry.
