COUNTY LEAGUE. Asdee 1-15 Austin Stacks “B” 1-8. Asdee notched up their second away win of the season when they had seven points to spare over their Tralee opposition played in Connolly Park on Saturday last.The first half was a ding dong affair with the Tralee side having a slight advantage in play. Eoin Tydings, (2) and one each coming from John Doran, Paul O Carroll and Eoin Kennedy Before Stacks struck for an Calvin Goal and at the break it was Austin Stacks who led 1-5 to 0-5. On resumption it was Stacks who got the better start kicking over 2 further points to stretch their lead to 5pts.
However Asdee knuckled down and took control and when Mike Breen goaled 12 minutes into this half it was all one way traffic for the remainder of the half. Darragh Keane, (2) Martin Collins, Mike Breen, John Doran, Eoin Tydings, Micheal Walsh, Kieran Kelly all got on the scoresheet with just a single point coming from the home side. Overall this was definately the best team display of the season so far with every team member contributing to an impressive win.

COUNTY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP, This weekend either Saturday or Sunday April 15/16thAsdee will be taking on Listry in the first round of the Castleisland Mart, Junior County Club Championship at Jack Walsh Memorial Park. Check with Club Secretary Mark O Hanlon for further details on this fixture. This is certainly a difficult task for Asdee as they will be taking on a team thats playing out of Division 2 of the Credit Union County League. However its a task the home team will relish as they are expected to exit at this stage by the so called football experts. So with nothing to loose you can be sure Asdee will give it a good lash and don’t be surprised if there may be a shock on the way.
MUNSTER FINAL SCOR. Despite putting up a marvellous performance against the cream of Munster Leiriu (Novelty) talent and getting a huge ovation from the huge attendance; the Asdee Novelty Act Group of Mairead Doyle, Kathleen Carmody, Gerard O Carroll and Jack Hennessy with their sketch “The Pensioner Officer” failed to get the Adjudicators nod at the Munster Finals of Scor Sinsear on Saturday last held in the Community Centre Cappamore. However in coming in second and just missing out on all Ireland appearance was a great achievement. It was a great and enjoyable journey and on behalf of the group we would like to thank the Club, supporters and also our coaches; Donie O Keeffe and Patsy Coughlan for their help during rehearsels. As this is the final outing for our Club in Scor 2017 we must offer a special thank you to our local Cultural Officer Kathleen Carmody for her tremendous work all during the three Scor competitions leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the Club are always involved in all three Scor competitions.
GOLDEN GOAL. Week 10 winner of the Golden Goal was Oliver Kearney, Craughdarrig, Asdee which is in conjunction with upcoming Fixtures in both National Football and Hurling League and Championship.(Televised Games). Tickets are available and will be on sale each week for the duration of the National League and Championship from Club members and the usual outlets; “jack Jays”, Bar, Post Office and John Pius at E2 each with E40 to be given out each week to the winning number which corresponds with the first goal scored.
SKILLS Asdee/Bally took part in a skills competition on Saturday last morning in Denis Dowling Park, Coolard. All the North Kerry clubs were represented. The Asdee/Bally team were Michael Hannon, Bobby McCarron, Liam Connolly. They did very well in the compettition.
UNDER 12. Bally/Asdee 5-12 Currow 4-11. A cracking high scoring encounter in the opening round of the Under 12 County League played on Sunday evening last played in perfect weather conditions at O Rahilly Park, Ballylongford. Very little seperated these two well drilled sides with only a point dividing the teams at the break; Bally Asdee 3-2 Currow 2-4. On resumption the East Kerry side enjoyed a good share of possession but once the home side settled they got back well in the game finishing the stronger with some excellent well taken scores. It was wonderfull to see so many new faces turning up which argues well for the future of the Club. Overall the panel of 19 can be well proud of their performances. The next game is scheduled for Sunday next April 9th at home to Annascaul at 6pm. Referee was Mike Joy, Ballydonoghue.
