COUNTY LEAGUEDue to a bereavement the Asdee v Valentia County League Division 5 game due to be played in Valentia on Saturday evening last was posponed and will be played at a later date.

North Kerry League U16 Division 2 Final. Played at Denis Dowling Park, Coolard.
Ballylongford/Asdee 1-01 Finuge 6-10

Score boards can at times do an injustice to teams and certainly in this instance, Bally/Asdee were far better than the score line suggests. They tried and tried for the entire game and in the first half were most unfortunate not to have notched up at least three goals. In fairness the team as a unit played some suberb football and canot be faulted for their efforts. However special mention must go to Jack Mulvihill & Tadgh McEllistrim who caused problem after problem for Finuge with their surging runs but the lack of scores for all their perseverance and energy was very frustrating. These two lads have a very bright future. They were well supported by Paul Murphy and Eoin O’ Connor in the forward line, who showed for ball all night. In fairness
Finuge in contrast had lady luck smiling upon them and this in conjunction with some well taken crafty and excellent scores was at the end of the day, the deciding factor in victory. Finuge were very solid and athletic down the centre and combined well to get possession into their forward line who clicked on the night. Well marshalled in defence and intelligent distribution of the ball meant they took their scores and drove on time after time to record victory. Ballylongford/Asdee: Stephen Lynch, Jack, Keane, Sean Carmody, Jesse Collins, James O’ Connor, Cian Barrett, Jack Mulvihill, Tadgh McEllistrim, Sean Hanrahan, Ciaran Dowd, Micheal Holly, Paul Murphy, Eoin O’ Connor, Neil Carmody, Sean Jackman, Conor Carmody, Ben Godfrey, Ronan Carmody, Denis Heaphy, Jack Collins.

CONGRATULATIONS. Well done to our near neighbours Ballydonoghue who won the County Minor Division 2 League on Friday evening last at Strand Road pitch. Also congrats to Jason Foley who was a key member of that minor success and  was part of the Kerry Minor Football team who defeated Tipperary in the Munster Championship semi final at Semple Stadium Thurles on Wednesday evening last. Kerry will now play Cork in a Munster Final.

FIXTURE. County League Division 5. At Walsh Park, Asdee v Kilgarvan. Sunday May 18th. Check with Secretary Mark O Hanlon for further details.
