A G M  The 28th Annual General Meeting of the St. Marys Asdee G A A Club will take place at the Community Centre, Asdee on this Friday February 7th commencing at 8pm sharp. Anybody who may wish to go for any position in the Club should contact Club Secretary Mark O Hanlon as nominations must be with the Secretary  before this Wednesday February 5th. Nothing will be accepted after this deadline.

BORD NA NOG. The A G M of Bord Na nOg will preceed the Senior A G M commencing at 7 30pm sharp. All welcome.

MUNSTER FINAL  Finally our Munster Final date with Charlville has been refixed and will now take place in Knockaderry on Sunday February 23rd with a throw in time of 2pm. For all those who may want to travel a bus will be organised so contact Stephen Horgan ofJesseJamestavern Asdee immediately.

NEW SEASON. Asdee Senior Footballers will be back in action for the 2014 season and will be taking part in all competitions both in North Kerry and County; North Kerry League and Championship, County League, County Novice Championship.

NORTH KERRY LEAGUE.  First up will be the North Kerry Senior Football  League Division 2 which will be getting underway on Sunday 16th February with a home game in round 1 at Walsh Park against Ballyduff.  The remaining teams in the group are; Knocknagoshel, Ballydonoghue and Moyvane. The format here will be that the top team will qualify for a final with second and third battling it out in a semi final. Winners of the Division will gain promotion to Division 1 for 2015.

COUNTY LEAGUE. The Credit Union County Football League Division 5 is down to for decision to kick start on Sunday March 23rd. Asdee who fared very poorly in this Division last year will hope to rectify the situation on this occasion. Definitely this will be the clubs priority this year with everything aimed at promotion. This competition will kick start on Sunday March 23rd with an away game against Ballydonoghue. Remaing team in Division 5 are; Moyvane, Tousist, St. Senans, Dr. Crokes “B” Kilgarvan, Duagh, Renard, Sneem/Derrynane, Laune Rangers “B”, Valentia.  Certainly promotion in this very competitive County League can only be achieved with a full panel of players at the Managements disposal.

NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP  No doubt even in defeat to Cromane in the first round of the Novice Championship last year our senior footballers went on to qualify for the Novice Shield and later qualify for the Munster Novice “Junior “B” Final. Defeating Clounmacon after extra time, Renard and Ballylongford in the County Final and Feennagh/Kilmeedy in the Munster Semi Final. This year the Club are hoping to go one better and win the Novice County Championship. To do this we must first dispose of the difficult challenge of in form Knocknagoshel at Jack Walsh Park. This game will be played in early April.

MINORS. Asdee/Ballylongford combination side will be taking part in the Keanes Super Value Division 6 “B” (13-11 a side) with the first game pencilled in for Saturday February 22nd  against Cordal/Scartaglin. Remaining teams taking part are; Castlegregory, Ballyduff, Beale,

SCOR CHIARRAI THUAIDH.  The North Kerry Finals of Scor Sinsear (Sponsored by Tom O Sullivan of Kilcolman Agri Supplies, Asdee) will take place in the Community Centre, Asdee on Saturday February  22nd commencing at 7pm sharp.   

 At a later date the Tintean Theatre Ballybunion will host the North Kerry Finals of Scor Na bPaisti on Sunday March 23rd commencing at 1 30pm. The local club will be participating at both events. For further information contact Club Cultural Officer, Kathleen Carmody immediately.
